What It Means to Work in a Diverse Company: Voices from Reiz

At Reiz, a morning meeting might include someone sipping coffee in Vilnius, another finishing dinner in Manila, and a third finishing their commute in Abuja. With 250 talents spread across 24 countries and speaking 26 languages, diversity is the reality we log into every day. We navigate cultural nuances, remote work, time zones, and different worldviews not as obstacles, but as the very things that make our work stronger and more human. But beyond the numbers, what does that actually feel like? We asked a few of our colleagues to share their experiences.

Moments That Make You Feel Like You Belong

For Information Security Officer Chinenye Gloria Udechukwu, the moment came early in her journey at Reiz. Amid the usual challenges of settling into a new remote role, she received a message from a colleague that she didn't expect: "A colleague messaged me out of the blue and said, 'Hey, I see all the work you're doing - you're holding it down.'" It was a small gesture, but in a virtual, global setting where it's easy to wonder if your efforts are even noticed, that message meant everything. "That day, I felt seen and like I genuinely belonged," she said.

For Analyst Janita Tan, inclusion comes through consistent small acts - quiet reminders that people care. "Reiz remembered my work anniversary," she recalls. "Even a simple message inviting me to join a stand-up, or the little encouraging notes we share - these things make you feel like part of something." Of course, inclusion goes beyond kind messages - it's in the spaces Reiz creates for open conversations. "Recently, I led a team meeting to discuss workplace behaviour - it's part of our company-wide Skillit growth plan. That really improved our communication. It showed that we're open to learning from each other."

When Differences Drive Better Outcomes

Diversity doesn't just feel good - it works. Analyst Gia Vitkutė sees it play out every day: "One moment that stands out isn't a single event, but a pattern I see in our cross-functional team meetings. When we bring together people from even just two or three different roles, the quality of our problem-solving improves. Ideas become more thoughtful, more rounded." This everyday collaboration becomes a reminder: different perspectives are critical and diversity goes beyond job roles. Gia's own background as a business coach allows her to bring something unique to the team: "It taught me to listen actively and adapt how I communicate, depending on who I'm speaking with. That's huge in a fast-paced and global environment like ours - it helps us align faster, not just on tasks, but as people."

For Janita, diversity is a journey of unlearning and relearning. Coming from Indonesia, she grew up in a work culture where hierarchy often dictates who gets to speak. "You don't really express your opinion unless you're a senior," she explains. But at Reiz, that dynamic shifted. "My teammates encouraged transparent communication. I've learned it's essential in remote work, especially when things get overwhelming. You need to be honest about your capacity."

The Everyday Impact of Global Perspectives

Diversity at Reiz is baked into our daily life and difference is part of the rhythm. "It shows up in everything," says Chinenye. "How we give feedback, how we manage time zones, even how we define what's 'urgent'. We're always adjusting to each other's lenses. It's made us not just a stronger team - but better people."

Janita also notes that cultural storytelling is a regular part of meetings in her team. "We often talk about our cultures - my team is from Lithuania, India, Pakistan, and Canada. These little exchanges bring us closer."

In a company like Reiz, where no two stories are the same, diversity goes beyond numbers. It means learning from each other, challenging assumptions, and choosing empathy every day. It means pausing to celebrate each other, making space for hard conversations, and recognising that leadership can look like kindness.

It's not always perfect. But it's real. And it's what makes Reiz more than just an IT company - it makes it a place to grow.
