As you choose your office for the day, whether it would be your cozy home or your local café, serving up the greenest matcha you have ever seen, you can't help but ponder what would your experience be working at the office once again. "Did you hear Thomas from HR got married?" No, you don't even know how he looks like, as his Teams profile picture is 8 years old, and he doesn't turn on his camera during meetings. Still, amidst the occasional disconnect, there's a shared desire to connect. So, being hundreds of kilometers away from each other, Reiz's talents strive to find ways to meet up and succeed – this time, in Malta!

Twenty of Reiz's Back Office talents from Lithuania, Portugal, and Cyprus met up at Malta's Airport on January 10th, with backpacks packed to the zipper, sunglasses already shielding their eyes, and excitement for the adventures ahead written all over their faces. We're talking Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Marketing, Compliance, Finance, and more – all geared up to connect, bond, and return with an even stronger foundation for Reiz's processes.
The next four days were packed with unforgettable experiences – from wandering through the historic streets of Mdina and Valletta, where every corner seemed to tell a story about the island's rich history, to taking in the sun while exploring the breathtaking beauty of Gozo and Mellieħa. The team shared countless laughs, snapped photos that will no doubt make their way into long-lasting memories, and immersed themselves in the vibrant culture of Malta. And let's not even get started on the food – fresh Mediterranean flavours, flavorful meat and pasta, desserts... Every meal during their team-building adventure was a feast worth savoring and talking about long after the plates were cleared.
“I'll be honest – there are people from my personal life that I wouldn’t choose to travel with because I know it wouldn't go smoothly. But gathering 20 Back Office colleagues for a team-building in Malta? That was something else entirely. We stepped out of our comfort zones, no perfectly laid-out plans, no routines, yet it all came together so great. The trip was about connection, growth and realizing how much we can learn from each other.” – reflected our Talent Acquisition Specialist Gabrielė Purtokaitė-Quinn.

Of course, it might have been more of a challenge to bring together all these Reizers if not for the team-building budgets that Reiz allocates quarterly. With distance interfering our ability to spend time with each other in real life, the compensation for shared experiences is more like an investment rather than a perk. Each time, Reizers are reminded that behind their computer screens, there are colleagues who are ready to help you when in need and work together towards the same goals – investing in the relationships that fuel our collaboration, trust, and success.
As the team hopped on their flights back to their home bases, the buzz from Malta lingered. The connections made, the laughter shared, and the memories created were a reminder that no amount of distance can stop us from being a team. While working remotely might sometimes feel like you're on an island (with a questionable Wi-Fi connection), at Reiz, we're all about making sure those virtual screens don't get in the way of real connections.
