He plans his day, sorts of tasks, and meetings depending on their importance while keeping the backlog in mind from the day before. During his free time, he could be staring at his screen with a blank expression, refilling his caffeine silos, developing a feature non-stop, or taking a break after being productive.

Collaboration is essential to John's work as a front-end developer. He believes that “communication between developers, designers, and stakeholders is crucial. He works in a scrum team and participates in daily standups, planning, refinement, review, or retrospective sessions. Collaboration can also be implicit, such as comments left in reviewed pull requests or changes in the cards of a kanban board.”

To stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in front-end development, John puts himself out in the open and explores the resources available online. He also learns how a group of people works to understand best practices. John acknowledges that “challenges he encounters are a result of how he perceives a given situation. He sorts them according to their significance and priority and prioritizes solving those that potentially have a significant effect when left unsolved for some time.”

Despite encountering challenges, John finds his work as a front-end developer rewarding. From design implementation to REST API integration, he finds “the process and result of front-end development painfully rewarding". He takes pride in getting himself out of errors, ensuring janky responsiveness, and working with various technologies such as DOM, React, Vue, Svelte, AJAX, ES6, Axios, and Hoisting.
