We recently interviewed Birutė, our Accountant, and gained insightful knowledge about accounting at Reiz Tech. She shared that she was drawn to numbers from a young age and pursued economics and management studies, inspired by her cousin. Her career began during her studies when she secured a position as an accountant in a company providing accounting services. Her supportive employer and clients allowed her to learn and grow, and her mother also worked as an accountant after retraining.

In staying up to date with changes in accounting regulations and standards, “the field of accounting is very dynamic in Lithuania, especially with regard to taxes. Therefore, we must constantly follow changes in tax laws and regulations. Various platforms of tax consultants, continuous training on current topics, independent interest and analysis of professional literature help to do this. And I would say that this is the most interesting thing in our field of activity, because the ongoing changes do not allow us to sleep, and constant interest and analysis remain professional.”

 In challenges, “most of the time, these are managers' questions about how to optimize finances so that "The wolf is full and the sheep is healthy", i.e. the most useful option for the company. This is where creative activity and the search for niches, discussions and considerations come into play, when the most optimal option is available. Other challenges relate to changes in accounting and adapting to the changing tax environment. Only constant maintenance of qualifications and gained extensive work experience help to easily cope with this issue.”

Birutė collaborates remotely with other teams and departments to analyze performance results, identify factors influencing outcomes, and develop plans for future success. She works with a team of analysts to prepare high-quality reports that aid management decision-making. Communication with Reiz employees is also a key part of her work, providing information on personnel accounting and changes affecting taxation of Lithuanian residents.

It's great to hear that the person enjoys working as an accountant and finds it to be a stimulating and challenging profession. Accounting is an important function in any business, as it involves the systematic recording, analysis, and reporting of financial transactions. This information is essential for decision-making, budgeting, and planning, and it helps to ensure that a business is operating efficiently and effectively.

As Birutė mentioned, “accounting requires a lot of creativity and interpretation, as well as a deep understanding of the company's activities and the regulatory environment in which it operates. It's not just about crunching numbers and filling out forms, but also about being able to see the big picture and contribute to strategic decision-making.”
