What is an Inclusive Hiring?
Inclusive hiring is a recruitment used to ensure that organizations hire a diverse range of candidates from the talent pool. It aims to fight against recruitment bias and any form of discrimination, and is part of an approach called DEIB, which is based on the principles of diversity (employing people with a range of social identities), equity (creating systems that ensure equal access), inclusion (ensuring all voices are heard) and belonging (nurturing a sense of security so that every employee feels that they are accepted and included).
Reiz Tech as an Inclusive Employer
Reiz Tech is an equal employment opportunity employer, with a diverse group of more than 300 employees working from more than 30 countries around the world. Our steadfast pledge to inclusion and diversity gives free rein to innovation and forms a culture where everyone feels they have equal opportunity regardless of race, religion, gender and etc.
This approach leads Reiz Tech to a more inclusive and harmonious enviroment, where everyone feels valued and respected. By promoting diversity and inclusion, we are creating a more equitable and thriving community where everyone can reach their full potential. Here are some features that our company applies daily during the recruitment process:.
Reizer Ethical Guidebook
Firstly, in Reiz Tech we define what diversity and inclusion mean for our organization. Therefore, we designed the ethical guidebook to become a more human-centric, ethically resilient, innovative, and culturally authentic organization. The Code of Ethical Conduct is not an algorithm for solving problems but serves as a basis for remediation when discrimination occurs.
Inclusive Language
During the recruitment process, our talent acquisition team uses only an inclusive language that is free from words, phrases, or tones that reflect bias or discrimination against certain groups of people. With a mentioned ethical guidebook Reiz Tech implemented an inclusive language vocabulary to create a more respectful workplace for all employees, regardless of their background or identity. It also helps to avoid unintentional biases during the recruitment of new talents and helps to ensure that all employees feel valued and respected in the company.
Solid Job Description
The language that you use in job descriptions is also very important to consider. Biased language refers to words associated with identity-based stereotypes, such as masculine or younger-age stereotypes. Stereotypically, for example, musculine words would be ambitious, hierarchy, decisive, and stereotypically feminine language would be compassionate, coorperative, empathetic. Therefore, when women see job adverts with more stereotypically masculine words, they are more likely to assume that the team is predominantly male and that they are less likely to fit in.
According to Textio, using gender-neutral language fills jobs 14 days faster than posts with a masculine or feminine bias, and attracts a more diverse mix of people. Reiz Tech is always making sure that the language in job descriptions is gender-neutral. What helps us to achieve it is setting SMART goals: objectives in a job description need to be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound.
Why Should You Think About Inclusive Recruitment
A 2020 McKinsey report states that the gap between organizations with a solid diversity recruitment strategy and those without is widening year-on-year. Also, research has shown that having diverse staff on board leads to higher levels of productivity, innovation, and performance.
