Inspiration for Prioritizing Diversity and Inclusion
"Reiz is a very creative company," Monika reflects. "Diversity and inclusion give us the possibility to see things differently and make various decisions, even atypical ones." She emphasizes how these principles drive innovation and enable the company to thrive in an ever-evolving business landscape.
Equal Opportunities for Career Growth
At Reiz Tech, equal opportunity is ingrained in our culture. "Everyone is treated equally regardless of gender, sexual orientation, skin color, or age," Monika notes. "Yes, we pay attention to gender balance because we know that there are still companies where women are paid less than males in terms of compensation, career advancement, and other roles." She further states, "Certainly, we do not intend to attain gender balance artificially. But we want to demonstrate that we are transparent and varied. And we are confident that gender diversity provides numerous additional benefits as a means of maintaining natural equilibrium."
Surrounded by Women in Management
With women comprising 85% of our Business Management team, diversity in leadership is not just a goal but a reality. Monika shares, "We all have very different strong personalities. As in every relationship, we have ups and downs; however, goals and common values help us solve daily challenges.” Reiz Tech’s CEO, Valdas, plays a crucial role in facilitating harmony and decision-making. “Valdas is a very inspiring and charismatic person who has thousands of ideas. At the same time, we, the management ladies, are those who help structure, realize, or modify those ideas. And that is a perfect example of how gender diversity works."
Representation and Empowerment of Women in Leadership
"There is a stereotype that IT is a men's world. That is not true," Monika states. "Some years ago, we started communicating about different roles and positions in IT where women should not be afraid to be." Reiz Tech actively promotes women in various roles, including Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, and Testers. Flexible work arrangements further empower women. This effort has resulted in significant representation of women in key leadership positions, with Monika emphasizing, "Today, 60% of women have QA (Tester) roles, 75% are BA (Business Analysts), and 83% are SM (Scrum Masters)."
Advice for Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion
When asked for advice to other companies looking to enhance their efforts in promoting gender diversity and inclusion, Monika suggests, "If your business is treated as a 'men's world,' show and communicate about possibilities to women. The same goes for other diversity aspects. Show different skin colors, religions, age ranges, etc. Be transparent."
Celebrating International Women's Day
For this beautiful celebration, Monika has some advice for women: "First and foremost, I would like to wish health and self-confidence. This is the basis for every higher step in your life. And if someone judges you based on gender, close that door and look for another one. There are many worthwhile opportunities out there."
As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's continue striving for a future where gender diversity and inclusion are not just ideals but lived realities in every workplace.
